A friend and I sat down one evening with a Dynaco st35 and tried some amperex, some mallurds, Tele's and a set of russian tubes. We found that the amperex and mullards sounded quite a bit alike, And the tele's did indeed come out on top, But we were surprised that the russian tubes did seem to keep up. They're a pretty good sounding tube. But beware, They don't take Higher plate Voltage as well as the Vintage tubes. You need to stay closer to 300v if you want them to last.
