The 37 is a 6.3 volt version of the 27. The 56 is basically the same as a 27. The 76 is slightly different and has a slightly higher gain. The 6P5 is a 76 in an octal base.
All three tubes, the 27, 37 and 76 all have lower plate dissipation than the 6SN7. Typically the dissipation is 1 watt maximum for them.
I've used all these tubes and they are capable of very low distortion when biased with a 150 to 175 volts on the plate and 3 to 4 mA bias.
I know the 26 is popular, I have not used it.
