As far as current production goes.....

These are probably the best sounding 12AX7 on the market. When compared to EH, Sovteks and even the re-issue Mullards, these tubes, in CD player and preamp applications, are wide open and dynamic. The Tesla(s) are too syrupy and the Sovtek LPS (which I find very quiet, at least the production samples that I have) are best in phono preamps. In CD plauyer and high level preamp applications, they are just well, uninteresting.

There is such a poor pick of good sounding 12AX7s out there, that I am tempted top buy equipment that does not use this tube.
