Albeit in my case it was a rectifier tube socket joint on an old ARC D70.

I went through similar trouble shooting steps. Replacing tubes, watched them glow cherry red on occasion, checking caps, bias, etc etc. Made me crazy (crazier?) for about a week.

Finally it started to take out fuses. That was it for me. Into service it went. Drove the tech crazy too. 3 hours later, a cold/broken solder joint was all it turned out to be.

He resoldered all of the tube sockets while in there. it's been rock solid ever since.
