The original poster claims that the bias is stated in volts, not milliamperes, though the .34v does not make sense. If his bias setting is in volts, he needs a higher voltage to reduce the current flowing in the tube, if the reading is in milliamps, then a lower figure is what is needed to run the tubes more conservatively.
