Okay, I found this Ebay auction below.

Seems to be a Marconi U50/5Y3G. The pic isn't very good, but that one looks identical to my Mullard 5Y3G (the base, the plates and the upper spacer! The one in the auction has etched codes "EA1 B7F", or so he says in his ad. That is clearly a Mullard date code. EA is a Philips code for 5Y3G. Mine doesn't have those codes. So, go figure who really made this tube...Mullard or Marconi/Osram.
