I read that 75 page thread a few days ago and besides nearly going blind i came awayway a bit numb...TMI. In the end i wasn't sure what was a worthwhile mod and what wasn't..... Seems that there were people that were not happy with were they ended up.... Any thoughts on what mod's are worth doing and what were not worth it or had very little return? I have a new Paradisea+ (stock tube) with only about 20 hours on it at the moment and i realize it needs more time to burn. That said, im hoping that time will tame the fat/bloted mid to lower mid bass. Maybe a tube swap is in order...As for the rest of the sound, its warm and very musical and has made some CDs i haven't listened to in a long time (listen to the vinyl version instead) sound very good indeed (save the bass).... In fact a quick A/B vinyl vs. AIFF of my hard drive threw Paradisea+........left me feeling a little sick in the gut and thinking about re assessing my turntable setup!..... yes i liked the pc/DAC better than my P25/Dynavecter 20x/ Monolithic PS-1/HC-1.....except the bass!!! Much tighter and more real on vinyl....So.... today its check vinyl playback setup day.
