The Glider has an output of .7mv and dynamics with an ARC VS55 amp are quite good. The SP16 is essentially an updated SP6B, which in turn was widely considered to be the best preamp of its (all analog) day. I always liked the SP6B and I like the SP16 even better. I can't say how good the SP16 phono stage is in absolute terms, but I also have a Ref 3/PH-7 based system as a point of reference, so the fact that the SP16 still sounds good to me should mean something.
