I have some late 50's CBS/Hytron 5814A (not WA) and late 60's RCA 5814A Command tubes that I use in the phono section of my Cary preamp. The Commands are ok but not really remarkable. The are slightly laid back and indistinct - a tad mushy for my system even when paired with bright 12AX7s in front of them.
The CBS/Hytrons are a different story altogether. Very good detail, resolution, clarity, punch. They are my favorite 12AU7 variant in my system at the moment. I dont know what the difference might be betwen them and a 5814WA, however.
Hope this helps.
David
