"Genuine" Amperex is (sic) US made (Hicksville, NY). Amperex is 1 of many makers Dutch giant Philips acquired. The list includes: Mullard and Valvo.
Tubes made in Philips plants have an etched code indicating their origin. Philips owned the brands and was well within their rights to label a Blackburn or Heerlen made tube Amperex. The labels are not particularly important. The info. needed about a tube is the plant of origin and the date of manufacture.
