My ST70 is also modified to run in triode mode, but I usually run it in ultra-linear as my Trente seem to enjoy that more, no matter which output tubes I'm using. I preferred the SEDs in ultra-linear, but today switched to triode to run the KT-77 I've been using for several months in that mode for a while.

Need a few more days and this pesky flu to be gone before I can determine if it's preferable.
