Those 'Y7s are FINE tubes. They are good for both HIFI and guitar service. Unless you DIY, pocketing the cash from sale may be your best move.

The electrical behavior of the 'Y7 is similar to that of the 'X7. The key difference is a mu of 40 for the 'Y7, as opposed to a mu of 100 for the 'X7.

Placing a 'Y7 section where a 'X7 section usually goes is a fast way to shed approx. 8 dB. of gain. Guitar players take advantage of that tweak, but it can be useful in HIFI too. The Leak Stereo 20, with its (sic) 120 mV. sensitivity, can benefit.
