because they have been good to me. I have JJ ECC83 (matched+balanced), ECC803S (matched+balanced), 6L6GC, E34L and LB and EL34/6CA7. The sound and construction quality is very good to excellent, no complaints.
I think the Chinese recent purchase tubes I have (SG/Ruby 6550ASTR, SG/Ruby EL34BSTR, SG KT66, SG/Rogue KT77 and SG/Ruby KT88STR) are more deserving of criticism than JJ's offerings. Lately the buzz is that the Chinese power tubes are better than ever/good sounding/high build quality etc. I find them to be dull sounding across the board (KT66 excluded) and lacking in build quality. In particular the glass is super thin (KT66 included), they are rattly, the glass is uneven and contaminated with particles/debris, and many of the pins are crooked . They cost about the same as the JJs model for model, but I'll take JJs over those any day.
