Michael- HOK is right. June 1958 Blackburn Mullard production for the one you describe. Some but not all genuine f31 specimens totally lacked a center guide hole, just as some but not all contemporaneous big base Xf1 EL34s did. All of the later Blackburn made small base f32 GZ34s (and EL34s, Blackburn Xf2, Xf3, Xf4) had the holes, though.
