Yep, I've always been a fan of the EL-34 tube type. My main thing is dynamics, and although other power tubes such as KT-88's and 6550's and what-not certainly have their strengths, to my ears none of them can seem to match the snap and quickness that EL-34's impart to snare drums and other percussion instruments. And while some say that EL-34's are lacking in the bass department, I haven't found that to be true - I've run EH-KT 88's and Penta KT-88/98's through my Mini's, and I prefer the bass of the stock Shugaung EL-34's that came with the Mini's over the KT-88's. Although the KT-88's midbass is slightly weightier, overall it's also a bit muddy, and to my ears the EL-34's bass goes lower and is clearer and more tuneful.
