EL34 vs. 6CA7 in CJ CAV 50

I recently got some slightly used GE 6CA7. Today I did a little comparisson between them and some JJ EL34L.
I do think, that the GE 6CA7 sounded more spaciouse and cleaner. Instruments seem to sound more natural and more cristal clear.
I am not sure if I am imagining this, since I got some new tuebs.
Since it takes time between letting the tubes cool down and warm up again and being re-biased, it's difficult to 'remember' all the details and differences.
How is your experience with EL34 vs. 6CA7?
Are other 6CA7 like EH and NOS RCA similar in sound to the GE?
