Re: Fixed bias + cathoderesistors

In addition to adding some cathode bias, the unbypassed 470 Ohm resistors also introduced local current NFB, which is linearizing the PP O/P stage. Don't bypass the 470 Ohm parts, as you will loose the local NFB.

If you adjust the bias pots. to give the same idle current you had before the 470 Ohm parts were installed, the EL34 operating point is pretty much unaltered (the plate to cathode potential is a tad lower).
