Are trying to improve sound in my Musicman guitaramp. The four EL34 have 700V at the anodes. 350V at screengrids. And current 25mA. Had crossoverdist.even at quite low soundlevel. Now I soldered in 470 ohm/1W between each cathode and the 10 ohm testresistor which is connected to ground. Guess class AB1 moved towards class A ? Sound is cleaner now. Can anyone explain to me why ? Shall I connect a 22uF/35V over each 470 ohm resistor ? Thanks for answers and perhaps more advice how to reduce distortion.....get a even more clean amp.
