Snap-ping Sound From 502B

Hi guys,
I've been a lurker here for around 6 months....ever since i bought my first tube amp, a modded Jolida 502B. I first must thank all the inmates for the wealth of information available to a tube newbie, i have had many questions answered by searching the archives and have had a very interesting journey into the tube world....more on my personal tube evolution in another post... i have much to say and reflect on. Right now this is my issue....i have recently put a quad of Original Tung Sol 6550's in my amp and of course they sound great, anyone who says output tubes have the least impact on your sound just have'nt tried the Tung Sol yet...so...when the tubes are heating up they ping and make noise like a car does when it cools....that's OK, natural heat expansion etc...but after i turn the amp off and it has long since cooled i hear sporadic static snap sounds coming from the amp, maybe once every ten to 15 minutes or so, power is off.....is this a bad cap discharging? I still can't tell if the snap is coming from the speaker....i don't think so but it's a weird little sound to isolate, i may have to camp out in front of the tweeter for a while.
I should mention that as i was ordering and aquiring my Tung Sol tubes i ended up using 4 tubes that were not matched but were biased in my amp and after running them quite hard one night, 1 o'clock position, i blew a fuse and saw arching in one of the tubes, no red plates though i swapped out that tube and have had no problems with fuses since, maybe something fried in the process? Let me know what you guys think about this snapping.
Thanks
Shawn
