The Rogue amps are more SS sounding than the Conrad Johnson... I chose the Rogues for my system for just that reason. In another system I may have gone with the more "Classic" tube sound of the CJ's...it's a system goal type of thing...no right, no wrong.Two other tube amps I kicked around were Quicksilver and Aronov...the Quicksilver sounding very good but somewhat weak in the bass department I thought (like the CJ amps) and the Aronov I could not find for a listen but my understanding is more Rogue like, ie...very good bass reproduction.
