Re: Rogue Vs Classe

You really can't compare components to the degree your trying to in a dealer showroom...you can get a general idea of which components sound at least interesting enough to try at home though.

I own a pair of Rogue monos, I also own an old school Krell Ksa-250 (a very good amp IMO) which holds it's own with most of the newer amps I've listened to the last few years...beats most of them to tell the truth.

Both amps are used to drive my Apogee Duetta Signature speakers...fairly large fullrange ribbon design (4 ohm and around 86db efficient). Both are used with a tubed Audioprism Mantissa preamp.

The Krell sounds lush and powerful...has an iron fisted grip on the Apogees large bass panel and could very easly blow them up at SPL's I would never go.

The Rogues are more fun, more musical, have more harmonic structure to the notes as they release into the sonic picture...all this while still sounding almost "Krell like" in their bass slam and as you mentioned great High freq extension.

The Rogues will not play the Apogees to extream SPL's like the Krell, but do play them as loud as I would ever care to play, so...depending on your needs and in your system...pick the amp that fits the bill.
