I have both the Sylvania '52 GT, the Sylvania VT-231 as well as a fair selection of other early 6sn7's and the bass on the VT-231 in my SA-11, and as a driver tube in Aria mono amps, is exemplary, deep, powerful, and detailed. While I am not going to contradict other inmates experience, I can say that with the right equipment they sound excellent. They are one of the three or four best sounding 6sn7's that I have heard.
