I can tell you an interesting observation made a year ago when I buied my last Mc225: The deliverd tubes were: 2xECC82 and 1x ECC83 Telefunken, 2x12BH7 RCA and 4x 7591 RCA coin base. The amp looked like ten years out of use at least. Testing results were: 12BH7 20% of emission, 7591 5-15% emission, every Telefunken more(!) than 110% emission. Any question?
The vacuum and the pureness of the plate and cathode materials determines the tube life. And then you should consider that working conditions with high tensions and about half the rated max dissipation power would ensure stable characteristics over a long lifetime. Nowadays small signal tubes are faaaar away from the quality of old Telefunken or Siemens or some RCA ones.
