Anyone else had really REALLY bad results with Pearl tube-coolers?I swear, I put one on an output tube (a 572) and the tube (relatively new) got REALLY REALLY REALLY hot. Like the Pearl was causing it to retain heat. Badly. So bad the amp shut down, and the parts of the amp around that tube were quite hot. I took the tube cooler off, and everything's fine now.
Seems quite strange. I only put the "coolers" on about a day ago, and I noticed the first time I powered up the amp that everything seemed a lot hotter. I mean, sure, the coolers might aid radiation of heat (to nearby surfaces), but it should also improve comvection. It just seemed to be trapping heat.
Hmm.
