If you don't buy tube sets from them you are on your own!

At least it would be a good idea to check with them first before trying something new. They can offer some good advice. Take for example the new VS series amps use Electro Harmonix 6550's.These sound great from what I understand in VS 55, 110, etc. amps. These EH outputs sound like crap in VT series amps, VT 60, 100, etc. They would give you a heads up on this as they have tried them in a VT 100 just as a friend of mine tried them in his VT series amp. Both found the same thing. Stick with the S.E.D.'s if you amp was designed with them.

I ran across one BOZO who was selling a CA 50 and listed it with EL 34's. I e-mailed the guy and mentioned the error. He told me all he needed to do is adjust the bias to retrofit it from 6550's like I was some sort of moron. He latter sold the amp to a guy that was a frequent contributor to AudiogoN. Well the amp blew up. The reason? EL 34's. Don't try to reinvent the wheel.

I am just trying to prevent someone else from torching their VT 130 SE, that's all. I don't care if no one beleives me. Like I said you are on your own!
