Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Advice from those in the know will be greatly appreciated. My system, driven by a set of tubed monos, is playing at noticeably lower volumes and sounds weaker, less crisp. Not sure if I need to replace some tubes or bias the amps. It would be a first time for me to do either.
Each amp has a complement of 6SN7 (x2), KT-88 (x2) and 5AR4WGB (x1). I have roughly 1000 hours on them. If I need to replace tubes, should I replace all of them? If I need to bias the amp any recommendations on a meter to use?
Thanks.
