When looking at the specs for a pre-amp- is the output voltage the only number that matters as far as the "weight" of the signal that is sent on to the amp(s)? I have a Bottlehead Foreplay that is significantyl "louder" then any other pre-amp I have used and it has a rated output of 20 volts. The next highest rated output I have seen is 12 volts. Does output impedence affect the output power at all? Was looking at an Antique Sound Lab pre-amp that has a rated output of 3.5volts. Seems really small. Trying to figure it all out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
