I like to move my speakers out for critical listening and back up against the wall when not in use. I've had trouble keeping the spikes on those little brass disks; they tend to fall off them and poke little holes in my laminate floor.
On a whim, I went to my local hardware store and purchased cap (or "acorn") nuts. They allow me to move the speakers easily, don't come off like the brass disks and seem to maintain that "coupled to the floor" advantage of spikes. Plus they're like 49 to 89 cents at Home Depot depending on size.
Anyone else try these? Thoughts? Am I truly going "nuts"???
