Thicker speaker wire for subwoofer better?

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I have a pair of Vandersteen 2WQ's and they come with a run of speaker wire. However that wire is quite thin. I have a run of some really thick monster cable with lots of tiny strands all wound against each other.
Would I get better sound if I went with the thicker cableing?
