a/d/s L-780 blown woofer

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Looking for suggestions on my a/d/s L-780. I think I have blown a woofer. I did this 8 yrs ago and was able to exchange it with a/d/s. They no longer sell these parts and referred me to three repair shops. I called one in Tulsa who said there may be a problem with adhesives. I'm thinking I may have better luck using a Vifa, Audax, or some other driver from Parts Express, Madisound, or whoever. Has anyone done this before, any ideas out there, or should I start auditioning new speakers?
