I'd be wary of someone offering M40's for $2800. The most recent models should bring around $5000 on the used market, I would think. New ones are now close to $7000, in short supply, and don't wear out very fast. $2800 M40's are likely old and/or beat up. Of course, if the seller is a pissed off spouse going through a divorce and selling the Ex's speakers, that's a whole 'nother story. Don't laugh, that's often where the best bargains are found!
