I appreciate the suggestion. I did hear both the 1.5 and the D15 but didn't care for either. The 2.5 is better all around, to my ears, not just in the bass. If I were going to add a sub, I would rather just get the Thiels, which had no bass deficiency in my room and were plenty pleasing otherwise, just not musical magic for me.

Any chance you've heard either of the smaller Joseph Audio floorstanders? I could probably manage to audition those at a dealer where I've never been, and they've had some raves.
