I need help, just bought (used) Hi-end speakers

I just bought a pair of Monitor Audio Gr 60's and a GR center.
I was in the market for a new home theater, looking at tv's and speakers constantly saw an add in my local paper for these three speakers 15 months old from a guy who is in the business of designing home theaters (mint condition, the guy was a fanatic) I paid $2k, i was seriously thinking of spending about 2500 on an MK system, but I listen to about 60% music and didn't want to have to fool with adjusting the sub constantly. So now I have the speakers and need to power them, I'm now learning and reading more about seperates, etc.,
I'm not an audiophile (although this purchase will probably lead me down that path) will I be happy with the Harmon Kardon AVR 8000 pushing these babies or will these speakers not reach their potential
Any thought and comments would be greatly appreciated
