I have owned Proac Response 2.5 and 1.5 and I am very familiar with the 1SC, 2 and 3.8 models. Believe me when I say there is no contest. The VSM-M is simply so better than the Response 2.5 that the difference is so huge to me to quantify. The Merlin VSM-M is way more transparent, detailed, holographic, faster, and above all neutral and natural sounding speaker than the Response 2.5. Of course the quality of components (Hovland, Esotar, Caddock, etc) it´s some leagues above.
ProAc R2.5 it´s a wonderful sounding speaker but the VSM-M is vastly superior, period.Hope this Helps.
