Yamaha = bright (and grainy)
Acurus = bright (but with great bass and great detail)
Klipsch = bright (dynamic and lively)I would consider a nice tube preamp from Cary Audio or the AES Super Preamp. Conrad Johnson PV10 is great too. New will be expensive ($1200+) used will be ¾ that price but most likely in perfect condition (maybe you will need to replace the tubes). A tube preamp would warm up the sound and minimize the harshness.
