Biamping with an active crossover is the best way to go

Biamping can yield excellent results but it is neither simple nor inexpensive and there are generally better improvements to gain elsewhere in the system before embarking on biamping. It should be one of the last moves after all is considered A1 at the front end.

Also, be careful about trying the easy way out by adding an active sub woofer. It will give you more bass but could play havok with the balance of sound.
