Re: Receiver or Speakers

A few simple things to check:
Does the reciever light up? If not, check fuse (usually on back), un-plug power cord first.
To check if speakers are blown, hook a short pair of wires to the speaker hook-up terminals. Touch the other bare ends to a flashlight battery. If the speaker makes any sound, It's not blown.
Next, check reciever's output fuses. These are usually located inside. Un-plug from wall. Remove reciever cover. Find the back side of speaker hook-up connectors. Follow wires from these to the circut board. There should be a pair of fuses near there. Check these, or just replace them (SAME VALUE of fuse).
If this doesn't solve the problem, have reciever checked over by a competant repairman.
Good luck.
Dave
