Re: GR Research Paradox 1 and Axiom M22Ti (long...Jonbee, CutThroat, Tromatic)

I do own a pair of Axiom 3ti, and have compared them directly to the Paradox 1. I have read the 22 is better than the 3ti, so I can't comment directly on the 22 in comparison. So, compared to the 3ti: The Paradox midrange, in particular, produces a more solidly focused image. It is so good as to invite comparison to the best under $2000. I think the driver integration is also superior, and the midbass has better definition. The Paradox also does something a lot of high end speakers fail at: it provides balanced energy through the presence region. Horns and drums have the snap and bite they should. I find many speakers back off the presence region to provide an illusion of depth and sweetness, but make dynamic music sound more laid back. The GRs are very lively and dynamic sounding. I think the GR is a very tough act to compete with at its price. I am using the GR in my home office, and for now the Axiom at my regular office, where it is more background. The GR AV1 uses a sweeter sounding tweeter for less $$. If your front end tends to sharpness the AV1 might be a better match, where the Paradox is great if your front end is sweet on top. Enjoy
