How high is your ceiling? Where are your ears when you do most of your listening? Do you sit on the floor while playing video games? Do you have carpeted floors?
Stand quality means just as much as their height. For the ProAcs, don't go with anything less than custom Sound Anchors jobbies. But before you place that order, make sure you've played with several stands, each with different heights.
Experiment with materials between the stands' top plates and the bottom of the speaker.
Keep in mind that what works in one room may not work in another. So there are no hard and fast and absolute rules, when it comes to speaker stands.
