Ken- I'd recommend selling your current speakers, rather than trying to modify them. If you've got the DIY bug, there are several good kits available from NorthCreek Music, BESL Audio, Shamrock, and at Wayne J's site. I just finished a pair of Wayne's Dayton III's for my brother and for less than $250, I compare them with speakers selling for twice the price.
