Am I abusing my Haydn's?

Howdy
I've been running my Vienna Acoustics Haydn speakers with the grills off for a little while now. Last night I noticed that the drivers were moving about 3/4" during the cannon shots in the 1812 Overture. (Still sounded great.) I realized that I've played that selection and a few others at higher levels at times in the past and it got me wondering:
Am I abusing them? Put another way, how much can a 5 1/4" driver take?
