Speaker wiring and SPL

203.136.210.147

If I have a 16-ohm speaker unit with a rated SPL of 89dB/1W/1m, how will the sound pressure level change when I do the following? -- 1) wire in series a pair of the 8-ohm version of the same unit (resulting in 16-ohm impedance), and 2) wire the "serial pair" in parallel with the initial 16-ohm unit (so the combined load of all three units on the amplifier is 8 ohms). The three units will be placed in the speaker baffle in the tightest possible configuraton, and the internal design of the enclosure (bass reflex) shall be optimized to reflect the change from one unit to three. What SPL can I expect with an input of 1W at one meter? THANKS!
