Hello Arnel,

It was not a real stupid question, but again it depends on how much away from the speakers you want to listen to it. The Guarneri's tend to be better when they have some room to breath. This does not only mean well away from the side and back wall, but also the distance between speaker and listening postion. Let state this way, they are ideal when you treat them as 'much' larger speakers.

Because I don't have an ideal room (who does), and I don't want to have to much room influence I have choosen to listen from it at a 2,50 meter distance. The Guarneri's are positioned almost 2,5 apart and more than 1 meter from the back wall. In this case I have to use a chair/couch that is just a little bit higher than normal to get your ears at the mids of the woofer. Almost as far as between woofer and tweeter. I amazing what a cushion can do. By the way, my listening postion is also determined by room and living restrictions. So again, not at all ideal.

In this way I get a relative direct sound I like. But be aware I use the Guarneri with a 300B amp and WE 300B tubes, which tend to be nice for the treble. Others would say rolled off.

Experiment a bit, the differences are very clear, but the Guarneri is very inolving even when you don't listen at the exact right axes. Of course this works in my room, with my amp etc.etc. Your mileage will vary. Hope this helps. At least I didn't 'nt' you. Good luck and enjoy. Walter
