Re: Subwoofer with Theil CS2.3s?

my main speakers used to be thiel 3.5's (now they're in the kitchen). these speakers, -2db down at 20 hz, were greatly helped when i went to a subwoofer system w/a pair of larger vmps subs & marchand active x-over. not yust for *techno*-type toons, but for all music - the thiels yust had an easier time of it. if not having a lot of room is an issue, then i'd recommend either the vmps original, or even the smaller subs. all the vmps upgrades are a must. dual woice-coil option is awailable, if ya wanna use only one sub. for the money, even considering the price of another amp & the x-over, yule get much cleaner, tuneful, transparent sound, top-to-bottom, w/this arrangement, compared to a powered sub such as a rel. higher, less-distorted spl's, too.
