Sounds like you should replace the tweeter. Make sure to use clip on heatsinks when you solder to the tweeter or else you might damage the connection to the voice coil. They sell them at Radio Shack. Also make sure you seal the tweeter into the box in the same way as the original, or else you will change the tunning of the box with an air leak.RonS
