Need advice on Dayton Titanic 1000 sub?

Hi, I need to get some feedback on the Dayton Titanic 1000 10". I Intend use is for the low range in a DIY project. I was originally going to use the Precision Power 10" carbon fiber plate subs but I had to reorganize my budget to get 4 better midbasses(Accuton C92/6). Is the Dayton Titanic suited for audiophile quality music reproduction or will I be disappointed? If their is a better 10" sub for $150-175 each please don't hesitate in suggesting it.
