Since you like tubes you need to be careful about the output impedence or dampening of the amp. The Dunlavy SC-II varies in impedence from 3 ohms to 7.5 ohms. The dip in impedence is in the bass region.So assuming you have a vairly good tube amp with one ohm output impedence, it would droop 1.1dB at the least and 2.5dB at the most. This means it will add 1.4 dB variation in the frequency response. Also, from personal experience that magical clean bass will soften up a bit with tube amps.
