dead spot with 315 hz test tone?

got a XLO test/burn CD and while listening to the 315 hz test tone noted that it was almost completely inaudible when I sat down in between the speakers, about in my usual listening position. Standing up and moving around it was loud. I am almost 100% sure that my speakers (Bw N805s) are in relative phase with one another. can anyone explain this pheonomeon, is this a weird artifact of a test tone or the CD, did I just hit a zone where the waves cancelled, or is just my ears or brain!
