Properly setup and supported by appropriate ancillaries, the EA II is much much more refined and detailed, not to mention more dynamic than the Concerto. Believe me, there is no going back to the Concert series after living with the EA II (or Signum) even for just a day.The Signum sounds clearer and more immediate than the EA II. Thats what its smaller midrange driver is for. Its midrange is purer and cleaner but not as warm and full as the EA II. It is also more setup friendly and in fact it images better. You can put a bit TV in between a pair of Signums and it will still image nicely. It also sounds subjectively livelier and faster. Plus they are so darn cute! The downside is that it has significantly less bass and has weaker midrange and bass macrodynamics. The bass is there with good extension and especially resolution but a bit lacking in terms of punch and weight. The Signum also has a brighter lower treble w/c can be too much of a good thing. The EA II also sounds a bit more relaxed and easy going, with a more laidback perspective and deeper soundstage.
The good news though is that the inner personality of either speakers are harmonious and calm, with the surefootedness and confidence of what genuine Guarneri descendants should be. I for instance can live with either speakers. I feel that beyond the "extrinsic" tonal differences, these speakers are actually more alike than different.
