RE: Dunlavy Aletha vs SC-V

Claude,

I've only heard the Aletha at CES demos and never in direct comparison with SC-Vs, so take that into consideration.

From what I recall, John designed the Aletha based upon the SC-IVa, only with a shorter cabinet which might have greater WAF. ;^)

As stated in the quote in janis' reply, all DAL models had a very similar sonic presentation, it was just a matter of bass extension and image size which increased as the models grew larger. From that I would suspect you could be happy with Aletha, but if bass extension is important (once you tried them to see) then a pair of subs might be the answer. I would only consider sealed box subs and crossover as low as possible however.

Good luck.
